Civic 2007 LX new key
Hi,
I am planning to buy a set of new keys from Amazon for my honda civic LX (
https://www.amazon.ca/KeylessCanada-Keyless-Button-Odyssey-N5F-S0084A/dp/B07BLNRSBG/ref=pd_sbs_263_6/142-9975943-6201336?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07BLNRSBG&pd_rd_r=e1a8f418-9081-4f25-bffe-c1bef8924141&pd_rd_w=h63mM&pd_rd_wg=jCsEz&pf_rd_p=74b54c94-7195-4620-ba51-7d167ac58a58&pf_rd_r=AX7BW2RA8TRPR2Z5V715&psc=1&refRID=AX7BW2RA8TRPR2Z5V715
), these are cheap uncut keys. Does anyone know what is the process to get those working with my car? I can think of two things
1. Cut the key: Home depot?
2. Programming: Self through youtube videos? I am confused about this part, what does programming a key really mean? just lock/unlock car or something else?
Thanks.

The remote needs to be programmed so it 'talks' to your car.
You wouldn't want bad actors buying generic keys that could open your car, would you?
Program at a locksmith or at Honda.

For some reason, the 2007 model (within the 8th gen) seems to be the only year where you can program the key yourself. I wouldn't say all 2007s, but they have the best chance of DIY.
