no start when hot after being in storage
I have a 1995 Civic Cx. About 12 years ago I swapped out the engine and put in a D15z1, essentially making the car a Civic Vx. No problems with it until about 5 years ago, I had a problem with a bearing in the transmission. The car sat for a month or two while doing repairs. After fixing the transmission, it developed a no start condition after reaching operating temperature. Engine would die while driving it down the road. At that time i kept trying to drive it and swapped out the distributor for another used one and it resolved. I think the new distributor was not the real problem though and it resolved on it's own because I then gave the car back to my son to use and he drove it for 3 years with no issues and then he stopped driving it every day and the same problem has come up. I know there is al ot of advice on a "no start when hot" condition, but I was wondering if the fact that it runs fine as long as you drive it every day could help narrow down the possibilities. I haven't checked out much yet, but i can hear the fuel pump turn on when i turn the key to the on position. I inspected the main relay and i don't see any cracks in the solder. I can hear/feel the main relay click even when the car won't start. I had to cut and do some rewiring when I did the engine swap. Should I check my splices? Wondering what to check next. Thanks for any help.
Start by unplugging the O2 sensor to see whether the no-start is prevented.
Was this done when engine would not start? Did you also check for spark?
Any CEL codes?
