Home made Wrinkle Finish Green paint first attempt
Well for over 10 years I’ve looked for high temp wrinkle finish spray paint in green to no avail, in 2017 I found one company out of Australia that makes a number of colors but they only sell by the box no single cans and it isn’t cheap plus shipping is a pain. There is VHT Wrinkle Plus but they only ever made red, blue, black, gray, brown and yellow. Brown and yellow where discontinued in the mid to late 90s so they are 10000% impossible to find now and red as well as blue have been discontinued since about 2009 so they have gone up to $15-$20 a can in recent years online. They still make Wrinkle plus black and gray but those aren’t that cool of colors imo.
So after months of research I figured out how to mix my own wrinkle plus and injected it into a empty can of old paint I had, and here are a few pics at different angles of the results:
*NOTE* I did spray 2 items before this to get the color and wrinkle amount correct but as a whole I only made this one batch and didn’t have to try a second time, got the results I wanted with this mixture.
Let me know what you all think, it’s going on my H23A BT valve cover.
Re: Home made Wrinkle Finish Green paint first attempt
it looks interesting, but I don't get why you would want a wrinkle finish, it looks odd and tbh it looks like rookie made a mistake while learning how to paint. I think you must have used a chemical used in paint stripper, what chemical did you add and what is the type of paint?
