Default d16y8 ignitor part change?

I might need to put a new ignitor in the distributor for my 2000 civic ex

One strange thing I noticed is that if you go to honda's website and punch in 1997 civic EX, it lists the ignitor part 06300-P2E-305

On the 2000 civic ex, however, it does not show a part available and instead only lists the distributor housing assembly 30105-P2E-A12, which is different from the part 30105-P2E-A02 listed for the 1997 model.

Does anyone know what the difference is and if it's possible to get an OEM or good quality ignitor for the 2000 distributor?

The igniter for the 1997 Civic EX will work in the 2000 Civic EX distributor. The 1997 ICM may have a male spade for the tach (Blue) wire that may not exist on the 2000 ICM, but you can leave it unplugged with no adverse effects. Just make sure you plug the wires inside your distributor into the same locations on the new ICM.
