Please help! My left turn signal starts out blinking very fast. After a day or 2 it stop flashing altogether along with my left side hazard lights we can hear the clicking in one of the boxes when we turn them on. Left . side clicks fast with no light inside or out.. If I turn on my hazard light it only blinks on right side! Its time to get my car inspected and I nee help so bad! Please work with me on this.I WOULD BE FOREVER GRATEFUL THIS LITTLE CAR OF MINE IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION!!! PLEASE HELP. MY EMAIL IS dianahorto52760@gmail.com.

 

Fast blinking is usually a bad bulb. It's what indicates one of the bulbs burnt out.

You could also have corroded contacts in the bulb base connector. First thing you should check is the bulbs.

 

Also possibly wrong type of bulb.

 

I switched all bulbs to right side and they worked. If the flasher relay is bad will it still click when turn signals are switched on?

 

That has been my experience also in the past. But all the bulbs worked when switching them over to right side.

 

Did you inspect the bulb sockets? I have had corrosion on the contacts prevent the bulbs from lighting up.

You have not provided any of your car information so detailed wiring information is not possible nor advise beyond the simple broken wire or corroded contacts or bad bulbs. Not all cars are built the same and the systems differ to some degree.

 

Have you checked the fuse?

 

yes Ive checked all the fuses. I havent yet checked the contacts. It's been raining alot in the last few days. But I will as soon as I can.I have ordered the signal/flasher relay. My car is a 1993 del sol. Automatic transmission. .

 

The relay is functioning fine if one side blinks.

Use a multimeter to check for voltage and ground at the bulb receptacle pins.

 

You are probably going to be as surprised as I was!!lol. It was the flasher relay! I even cleaned the contacts in bulb socket because like you, I really thought that's where the problem was . But still nothing. So I went ahead and plugged in the new relay and..tah dah... it worked! So happy to have it fixed! I appreciate everyone's responses! I have found out more about my del sol than I hope I ever have to use! Lol. But during all this with the turn signal I found out why my roof leaks (pours) when it rains.. Blew out the drain holes I didnt know I had! It's going to be pouring down here anytime so Im looking forward to seeing what happens! Thank you again and have a nice evening!

 

Thank you to everyone that took the time to post! Like most everyone else, I thought it had to be a bulb or no contact with a bulb because of the way it flashed so fast before it stopped all together! But it was the signal relay! It's back working and Im one happy lady! Thank you all so much!
