Default OEM aerial - diagnostics

Hi all,

I've got a 96 spec JDM in the UK that I'd like to get the OEM aerial working again, it was bought non-functional and I'd like to find out why.

Parts are very difficult to find/non existent, so can anyone recommend some diagnostics to test the mechanism?

You can pull the antenna out and see if there is gunk in it keeping it down. Most common issue with these is that the plastic track gets brittle and snaps. I believe there are aftermarket replacements available if you do a quick search.

When you say pull out, how would you go about this? Pulling up with pliers? Short the circuit?

Can you provide a link to the aftermarket replacements?

Easy to just ebay it or find a local parts place near you

The other option is to convert it to a manual antenna, I believe the 93 DX accord antenna is a direct swap on integras

Nice one, thanks for this! I need to take the rear interior out anyway, so it looks like that's a good time to investigate the aerial too
