Default Turbo b16 help!! E85

NOOB POST

I recently bought a 98 ek hatch b16a turbo making 415 hp on e85

now this might seem like a dumb question but for a e85 car is it normal for it to smoke on startup and when letting off the throttle at times
it does not smell like oil or coolant just smells like e85 (it has been cold in my state) just looking for opinions on if this is something to worry about or not since im new to the e85 world feel free to roast me 😂

Damn, sounds like you recently bought a car, and it came with bad piston rings and **** shot valve stem seals, that you weren’t aware of.

I did this recently too so we in this together💪🏽

Honestly the only thing you can do is tear it down and rebuild it, if you don’t want to do that (me either) just drive it, how much you’ll spend in oil will soon make you want to rebuild it

NEVER, EVER buy a swapped/boosted Honda unless you know the car was properly put together. OP, either rebuild it or deal with the issue for the time being.

Word!

Use up the E85 and run 91, it should have a flex fuel sensor so check for it first and it will compensate for the 91 and see if you have the same issues but its pretty pointless cause if your smelling fuel you will still smell fuel. Have the engine or tune checked it might be running super rich and dumping tons of fuel.

Do you have a AFR gauge hooked up?

I can take a look at the tune if needed. Does the car have a wideband?

Buying some else's project can lead to headaches.
