I had a similar problem with the 2013 Honda Accord EX fob not working to allow trunk lid to open by pressing the button on the lid when in possession of the fob. I got a new fuse box installed which cost around $1800. Several other things were done at the time, new timing chain, valve adjustment, oil change, etc. So, I spent lots of $$ to revive this feature. Dealership diagnosed the problem after a nearby mechanic spent 4 hours looking at everything he thought it could be. Nearby mechanic said replace the "Multiplex/Multiple Integrated Control Unit." The dealership service manager and the parts person both told e they didn't think this item was the cause of the loss of trunk lid unlocking by pushing the button on the lid when in possession of the fob. I had the dealership do a diagnostic. They came to the same conclusion, apologized, didn't charge me for the diagnostic session, and sold me what they referred to as the "Dash Fusebox." They said this is the same item the first mechanic called the "Multiplex/Multiple Integrated Control Unit." I had the following done: Dash Fusebox, Timing Chain and VTC Actuator (variable timing control), oil change, Valve adjustment with valve cover gasket, serpentine belt, coolant flush, front crankshaft seal (needs 24 hours to cure). They kept the car, disassembled 5/27/25, install everything 5/28, wait for the seal to cure picked up on 5/29. Cost $4,698.23 out the door.
