Default O2 Sensor Compatibility?

It looks like the plug and terminal configuration is identical between EG Civic/OBD1 Integra/OBD2 Integra.

The sensor my little Si Hatch calls for has the longest leads (just under 17") and looks to be less 'spensive than the Integra ones.

Denso # 234-4099: https://www.densoproducts.com/product.aspx?zpid=18065

Looks like it was used from '92 to '00.

Any problems using this for my B18C1 equipped EG hatch?

Thanks for weighing in.

This is the o2 sensor listed for my stock Si hatch w/ the D16, so I don't think an extra 0.2L (12 cubic inches) from the B18 will overwhelm the sensor. It also crosses w/ the '96 del Sol VTEC which is my "go to" bridge for EG to B18 pieces.

Since it has the longest lead, I am hoping we won't have to splice in an extension like we did when I put the header on.

Of course after I ordered the Denso 234-4099 w/ 16.5" lead, I figured out there is another Honda o2 sensor that fits our EG chassis that has a 20" lead:

If it's a 4 wire o2 sensor, it will work on anything requiring a 4 wire o2 sensor as long as you have the right connector and the terminals in the right locations.

O2 sensors from my B16 work fine with my B18. They don't have any idea that there was a stroke change.

The Denso I went with had nowhere near a 16.5" lead. More like 12.5".

I said F it and spliced in an extension to get me from the header to the connector. Hope to install this weekend!

Be sure to use shrink wrap and solder them to be extra safe! also use some wire loom to protect the extended wires from heat.

Fo sho, fo sho! I used solder seals for each splice, and staggered them so they can fit in heat shrink.

I also kept the original wire harness sleeve from some previous O2 sensors to use on this - that stuff is nice!
