Default Oil leak

I'm losing about half a quart of motor oil a month. The front of my engine is a mess. This has been going on for awhile but seems to have worsened, lately. I cleaned it a bit to try to find where the oil is coming from, but nothing strikes me as obvious. Currently my best guess is that it's coming from the head gasket, maybe due to a warped head or increased crankcase pressure from a plugged PCV valve. I enjoy having a tidy engine and this is a real bummer, not to mention all the Mobil One it's costing me.

One clue about the PCV valve is that I went on a 300-mile road trip last week and it barely leaked. Taking short trips around this week seems to exacerbate it. Anyone have an idea where it's coming from? Does it look like common PCV-related leakage?

It does look like it is coming from the head area, butI would check just to the left of that leak and see if the the distributor seal is the actual leak. That's a common area for a leak to spring.

Usually a leaking dizzy seal leaves a large mess on the transmission and ruins the heater hoses as well. If you are leaking please also examine your hoses as they now have the possibility of failing

Thanks. I replaced that seal a couple of years ago. But I'll check it again.
