Newer Auto Transmission from 2006 or 2007 to replace original from 2003, 2004, 2005?
Hi,
I've been considering an Accord coupe for my next car, and I'm at the point that I need an automatic transmission instead of a manual. I tend to like the rear styling of the 2003 to 2005 model years better than the 2006 & 2007s, but I'm hesitant buying the earlier ones because I notice a whole lot of problems with the automatics from those years. (Carcomplaints.com) I was wondering: if I did get a 2003-2005 model and the auto transmission DID die, would it would be possible to switch the older transmission out and replace it with a newer one from the 2006-2007 models that seem to have far less problems? With the searching I've done, it seems that 2003-2004-2005 auto transmissions are all interchangeable, but I can't seem to find definite proof that the 2006 and 2007 auto transmissions will swap in too. Could someone help me out with that? A definite YES or NO, one way or the other? I would appreciate any help you might be able to give. I realize another option would be to buy one of the newer ones and do a trunk/bumper/tail light conversion; but before I would consider that, I want to weigh my options and see what might be a better deal for me.
Thank you!
