my plans
after three sedans i have I have a pretty clear cut idea of what I want to do and it’s pretty short and logical

ill start with some hidden gps trackers and a timing belt. What do you guys think “first moves” wise?

i also want to get the windows tinted bc I myself love the car and the way it looks but I personally would rather not be seen in it

Problems not too many actually. The cigarette outlet doesn’t work the alignment is a little off. The speedo bounces slightly and it may or may not take longer than it should to warm up. I did the bounce test it doesn’t bounce so the shocks are good. all the lights work the headliner is perfect. No cracks in the dash or door panels the windows go up and down and there is no power seat belts THANK GOD. I’m personally sick of them going out or getting stuck. I was dead set on not buying a sedan with power seat belts. I really didn’t even want power windows but wtvr. One time my grandma was getting out and the seat belt wrang her neck lmaoooo. Poor grandma. The trunk space is clean af It came with 3 outa 4 mud guards woot woot and a original arm rest for the fanboys lol the motor has 160xxx miles lol I’ve put a 1/3 of a million miles on a dual point in the past so I’m happy with the miles lol the Steelies are original paint not rattle can and the tires are good. When the tires finally go bad I’ll then waste my money and swap them out for 15inch Steelies with Chevy cobalt hubcaps. That’s my wheel plan #kiss then wrap the car no paint
the stereo plays music super low even turned all the way up. I haven’t had an auto in a long time and for this “build” I really wanted an auto I’m sick of shifting. So I’ll leave that alone. On the subject of autos I’m guessing assuming that it’s normal that the car will pull while at a stop but this pulls pretty good. I wonder if that can be adjusted. I don’t think so tho.

 

I just got a old fashioned alignment with string for $45 lol it helped I’ll go to sears and get a free alignment check and take the printout back to the muffler shop where I had it done for some final tuning. It’s not bad under there. I’d say the rear main seal has a slow leak. Not too bad I’ve had worse and the power steering pump leaks a little bit I knew that when I bought it. That leak doesn’t even reach all the way down. All four strut assembly’s are new he’ll yea because I had no plans on lowering this car. Only to get some oem 4 for the price of 3 deal Monroe’s lol nothing’s softer then oem. When my friends pack in, it won’t make sparks on the freeway lol hilarious times. Also I put my hands over the exhaust front to back and didn’t find any leaks. The cat doesn’t rattle either. The idle surges from 1 to 1.5k I’ll clean out somethings this weekend. Brakes work like they should for a 30 year old car. First gear is starting to slip more. Sometimes it will like to get to 3k rpm first then shift. So I get there and I can hear when the shift is coming so I lift off, it shifts and it’s not so hard. I’m swapping trannys soon so for that reason expect a thread titled “will d17 tranny fit blah blah blah I swear I won’t lol I’m pretty sure it fits but I’d like to know if the final drive is higher and where the linkage is located on the casing and if my old linkage will reach and work. It has ac so I love that. Even the mirrors work lol but there is no Cruise control. My 90 had cruise control. It’s great I need to diy some floor mats and give the inside a detailing. I forgot to ask the muffler shop/tire shop to tell me what was the production year on the tires. I can see cracks on the tires.

Today at the swap meet I got my windows tinted. Other things I bought were a towel with a naked girl on it. A new hat for work and a wood looking sterling wheel cover.

 

Wheels update I scored all four for $100. 15x6 56.1 center bore. Those exact hubcaps are the ones I wanted too
so far it’s only been tint and those wheels for this build. This weekend I need to swap out that transmission that slips second and won’t go into 4th gear. $300 from alpha street with 90 warranty. Then it’s $700 for a viper alarm with remote start and gps. Then fun stuff like bigger brakes and motor.

 

why are you gonna put a $700 alarm on a stock 89 civic?

Obd0 trans is kinda not easy to source. Even with the whole street of wrecking yards numbers saved in my phone. I’m waiting on a call back.
Later trans go back to using a single solenoid on the housing like I have.
I had this other thought could I use the dual cylinder trans on the eg - ek and wire them together so maybe they act as one idk

oh i understand it perfectly, i’ve had so much **** stolen from me in my life when i was younger, so believe me i know.
i don’t really give a **** if she wants to waste her time pulling off her head unit face plate and that steering wheel club go for it.
i live in a nice area though so i’m not worried about my ****, but i also don’t advertise everything i’ve got.
