So i have a 02 civic ex vtec and i was having misfire that was jumping all over the place.i changed these parts that i will be lusting but still having the problem.
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Fuel injectors
Coil packs
Spark plugs
And pcv valve because i was having a code for pcv valve air leakage. I took it to shop and they told that the only thing they could tell me what cause the misfiring is valve adjustment and they told me that it would have cost me a couple hundred bucks. I bought me a feeler gauge and fallow the specs for the intake under the hood,i will put a pic so you guys can see.

I adjusted them two times,i call the dealership and the gave me a different specs from what under the hood which is .18-22 intake and .23-27 Exhaust and i did adjusted them with this information they gave me and I'm still hearing it loud enough..i know hondas got a that sweet ticking sound but this sound is not that ticking sound I'm talking about. I hardly get vtec to kick in right now. what can i do? I dont want to adjust them too tight because that could cause the valve over head and warp and thats a bigger problem down the road.. I also see here guys used 007 intake and 008 exhaust..what model civic use that small feeler gauge.?

Ok.thanks for replying.yes,i did readjusted the valve. I used .22 intake and .25 for exhaust ,those are the issues that was causing the noise,so i readjusted them to .007 intake and .009 for exhaust. The noise when away and its seems fine.. I have a question, I'm hacking a code for pcv valve air leakage. I changed the pcv valve twice and i still having the code for it.the pcv valve that was on the i changed it to a dealership pcv valve but it doesn't make a difference,the code still come back.what you think causing it?

 

Check the PCV hoses and connections for leaks or restrictions.

 

Ok i will do that and get back with some result.
