D16y8 swap into 94 honda covic
Ok so i had a 97 coupe with a 5 spd d16y8.. I bought a 94 civic with a blown motor and automatic.. Im wanting to swap the d16y8 and 5spd tranny into the 94 any tips to help or anything that ill need to do
The engine is practically a direct bolt-in.
The auto to manual swap though is going to require a bunch of parts from a generation 5 (1992-1995) manual Civic. Most likely including the transmission since I think the mount on the right side is different in the generation 6.

you will definitely need an aftermarket mount at the tranny...Hasport, Innovative, etc.
As for other stuff, they mostly will bolt up with the exception of the ECU. You will need a P28 (OBD1) ecu. Engine wiring harness, that will be a fun venture. Hopefully you're mechanically inclined. If not, GOOD LUCK...
