replacing plastic shell for key to 2009 Accord
Honda Accord 2009. I have both original keys - however, the plastic shells on both have cracked and each is held together by small strips of duct tape. Today the metal key broke apart from the plastic shell on one of the keys (while in the ignition!) and the time has finally come to repair / replace. (Thankfully, I was able to get the key out and shut the car without issue.) The electronic elements and the metal keys are all fine - it is just the cases that are broken. Here is my question: Can I just purchase a replacement plastic shell or does the 2009 Honda Accord have a chip hidden in the plastic shell somewhere making this more complicated? All replies appreciated. Thanks.
You can just get a plastic shell or the plastic shell with the metal key attached.
The module with the buttons and where the battery is has the chip. That has to be transferred.
