Default 96 Accord 2.7L V6

Hi everyone. New to the group. Thanks for all the helpful info everyone shares here. Long time Honda owner. Finally a V6 owner. Lol. This is the first 2.7 CE6 I have ever seen or had the opportunity to get my hands on. What is everyones opinions on the CE6? What problems will I be looking at in the future. Is this a motor I should run from being the limited run on years? Just getting my hands were with it and it runs great but I'm finding that there is very little in aftermarket/ replacement parts availablity. Just putting it out there to see what everyone's thoughts are on it. New to me but hopefully some others have had some experience with it. Thanks guys!

It’s a good engine. I had an Accord with it. I drove it cross country as well as back and forth to work. Just make sure you change your oil on time as the lifters will start making noise if you don’t. Also make sure you change the timing belt when necessary no questions asked. Overall they are very reliable, and smooth running.

I agree on the timing belt. It seems so often people post about a timing belt snapping. When you don't know, you most likely will be safer doing it, even it if hasn't hot the mileage, it's often hit the age at this point on a 20 year old car.

A car built in 1996 is 24 years old not "20 years old".

I agree. Age also plays a role in timing belt wear. It’s a basically a luxury car engine and not a racing engine, so if was never designed to be modified. It’s very good for highway cruising especially
