Advice on Neutral Safety Swich replacement, Nostart/crank issue. 2006 EX/3L
Greetings!
Accord 2006 EX 3L. Have had intermittent no start no crank. No Check Engine lights. I believe it is the Neutral Safety Switch ( transmission range switch ). I could wiggle the Shifter and have a successful start"sometimes".
I ordered a new switch. Per instructions, I set it in Neutral, removed the switch and installed the new one (see photos) Even with the slack in the two bolts I could not get the notches to line up. I rotated
the switch as far counter clockwise as the holes would allow.
No issues for a few days. Then today, I get nothing. Shift into N and I can't start either.
So now I'm thinking it was not the old switch. Any suggestions how I can rotate the switch more into alignment?
What other issues may it be?
I'm going to try and replace the old switch and see.
UPDATE: After replacing my original switch I noticed I did not get indicator lights as I shifted through the gears. Then I adjusted it a small bit clockwise. Now I get the lights for each gear but still just a click. No start. I've checked battery voltage and that looks okay. I'm stumped.
