Default 1996 Civic Hatchback B16A2

- I am putting this car up for sale before completion, to find interested parties... Maybe you want to finish it YOUR way? I have been on Honda-Tech since way back (lost my login credentials ten years ago... DEVIATE previous user name) and got the bug to get an old hatchback and build it like the one I had built for NASA Honda Challenge competition. The plans changed since, now its for sale.

Here is what I know about the car:

Originally this car came from the bay area california and made its way out to Arizona a few years back.
The person who sold me the car was the second or third owner and had it for years. They had a baby recently, and moved on from the car. It was sitting in the driveway for the last year until I purchased. I went through and tried to clean up the car and make it look stock under the hood... installed a USDM CR-V stock intake, stock exhaust and got it through emissions. No rust, no accidents. This is a very nice chassis, and low miles (82,xxx on the clean AZ title) though I cant confirm the actual history because I don't have CARFAX, but it looks very nice underneath. I disassembled the entire vehicle and went through everything, there is no damage to this car. The underside has not been bottomed out or busted.

-The interior is in storage and it is nice. All stock civic stuff here, nothing fancy. I have everything, including some nice stereo stuff that can go with the car if that's your thing. i will reassemble the interior. I installed window regulators that work, and removed the 2way paging alarm w/remote start because its unsafe and the lock actuators are stupid. I will include the alarm if you want.

-The exterior was converted by the previous owner to a 99-00 civic si theme, but never painted: the hood, lights & front bumper/lip (aftermarket black primed Chinese parts) and 15" Si wheels with really grippy falken tires. I prefer the 96-98 front, my plan was to change it back, and I have a '98 civic coupe donor car (also for sale). I started sanding yesterday, I will be fixing the dings/scratches and putting a nice factory pearl black paint job on it.

-The engine and transmission came from a 99 civic si, the PCM is a P30 from a 97 Del Sol VTEC. There are still VIN tags attached, they match. I pulled the valve cover and oil pan to inspect, adjusted the valves and put in new gaskets & NGK spark plugs. I didn't check the compression because it runs so good. Very clean inside, no play in the bearings and its obvious somebody changed the oil regularly. The 4-1 header is cheap, but it came with the car. The gasket didn't seal, so I got a baller MR GASKET thick copper & problem solved. The transmission (which was disassembled for inspection) has excellent syncros and there are no grinds or pop outs, really smooth. The clutch is upgraded to a 6-puck race unit, the flywheel is a lightweight 9lbs. (unknown manufacturer on both items, installed by previous owner.) The axles are brand new both sides. The engine revs quick, and the trans shifts like butter. No more leaks, and the previous owner tucked the engine bay a little bit which looks clean. All emissions equipment is installed.

-The suspension is setup for the street, with Tein coilovers that have almost zero miles. Adjustable upper control arms in front and toe links in the back. Aluminum control arms installed by previous owner. Complete rear disc brake swap with cables and poly bushings are included, but not yet installed...

There are probably more things to list here, but that is a decent overview. All the mechanical work is about done, just paint and body left, then assembly. The new plan is to make this car very clean and OEM, and sell it.
I have a 98 Civic DX coupe with new headgasket & automatic trans that needs paint, but is very original and nice. i was going to use it for the front end, but that could be for sale also.
I have a 98 Prelude with manual trans H22A4 also, that could be a donor for a swap or a driver, lots of new parts there. Engine/trans already pulled.

Car is located in PHX AZ and I can deliver on a trailer. The price is 3500 primed for paint, or somewhere around 5000 assembled and painted. I would be willing to separate the engine/trans and sell the shell. I would be open to keeping the shell and selling the drivetrain.
