2005 Civic 1.7 - cranks but will not turn over
Hi,
My 05' Civic quit on me on the freeway and it won't turn over. The code pointed to the crank sensor which I replaced the sensor (purchased via amazon; Beck Arnley 180-0393) and the car still does not turn over.
I removed the oil cap and when the car cranks I can see the internals moving (cam) which I believe is a good sign.
What else do you guys suggest? There are no current codes as they were erased as I disconnect the battery while replacing this sensor.
Thanks in advance,
~JV

No car have I had not start, I could not diagnose with this:

Yes, it's not simple, "go plug this in...", but follow the diagnostic tree and you will fix it.

Cranking is turning over , you're saying it cranks but doesn't start right ? Check for proper spark , fuel pressure and injector pulse . I just replaced a crank sensor that was only 5 months old with little mileage , you can't make assumptions things have to be tested and junk parts are an on going problem . I guess I have to go to the dealer and pay god knows how much for a reliable part . Sometimes another part will go bad by pure coincidence .
