1990 Honda Accord Transmission Control Module Issues
Hello, I know I need a new transmission control module for my 1990 Honda Accord DX 4 door. I took the TCU out and it had the part number 28100-PX4-833 on the first line, second line was 6163 Lot NO. 1111, and third line was 3LZ. This being said, I have been looking for a replacement that wont cost both my legs and people are saying that other TCU's will also work for mine, like ones with 21800-PX4-xxx some other numbers, or 3LX. will this work? I am not looking to sink stupid money into a new one and I cant find any exact number matching ones. What should I do?
IIRC
28100 indicates 'Honda Accord'
PX4 is for Japan built and US is PX0
Last three digits indicate what submodel/engine is in the vehicle.
Only difference would be slight differences in shift points, but I doubt you would notice unless using a DX coupe TCM in an EX Wagon there may be a slight notice in maybe not ideal shift points under heavy load conditions. But otherwise the TCMs will work amongst that generation of Accord.
94-97 Accords do not have the 'S' button, so you would not have that functionality.
