Default 1981 Accord Hatchback cvcc Won't Start

So, I had the car running when i bought it (not to bad for $300! ), but the accelerator pump was stuck so it was hard to start. Little squirt of ether and it idled great! But fell flat when hitting the gas. So I took the carb off and cleaned it. Went pretty good so far. I reinstalled it and got all the vacuum lines and solenoids connected. Now it wont start at all even with ether! I checked spark and that's good, orange but still there. As far as valve and ignition timing I'm not sure but it did run before I pulled the carb off. What do I check next? I mean how can it have spark and not start with ether?

Also as a side note, I'm about 87% sure I don't have any vacuum leaks, I did a smoke test with my vape. But I would like to remove and cap as many vacuum lines as possible as emissions are not tested in my area and fewer points of failure would be nice.

Well, turns out my fuel pump quit randomly. Replaced that and now the carb is overflowing through the jets. . .now I get to take the carb apart again! Yay!
