96 accord starts fine but then dies, more so when cold
Hello, my 1996 Honda Accord just started this. It will start, (mainly happens when cold) but then immediately die. Then, once stays running enough to pull out and go, it can die right in the middle of driving and then take 2 or 3 more times to get it to start and stay running. Any ideas? No loss in battery connections and new batter just 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for the reply. I have also read some other posts and seems like a common issue is an ignition switch and/or coil issues. Thanks again. Gotta keep the ole thing going. I have had since brand new in 1995 and now has 335,000. Can't let something little like this take 'er out!
A failing Ignition Control Module (Ignitor) will cause those symptoms. The Ignition Coil is a possibility too; but, generally, if it is bad, the engine won't start at all.
