Rusted Radiator fan bolts/square nuts
Hi, all..I'm in the process of replacing the lower radiator hose, and unfortunately, you need to remove the radiator fan to do so. Of course, the square nuts and bolts are fused, and the fan casing is plastic, so I'm looking for suggestions. I just spent 1 hour dremelling out one of the upper square radiator fan nuts, since these are rusted on; the lowers are even worse. I wasn't using the best of bits (a red conical, since that was the best option I had on hand). I'm looking for tips. There isn't much clearance, and also working under the car is going to be worse. Should I use a different dremel bit, like a diamond bit? I've never used the metal cutter bits (don't seem like it would work for this, but I don't know for sure)? A dremel disk cutter bit? Something completely different? I would hate to spend 4 hours on this....
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
