Haw to convert honda civic D16A8 ZC, TWIN CAM obd 0 to obd1
What exactly i need to convert D16A8 ZC to obd1?
i have ecu obd1, distributor TD43U, harness for ecu and distributor, 4 wire O2 sensor.
What else i need to do, for example do i need to change any other sensors or change another wires ?
Re: Haw to convert honda civic D16A8 ZC, TWIN CAM obd 0 to obd1
you need to remove the cylinder sensor from the end of the exhaust camshaft and replace it with a rubber plug from a B18A1
what OBD1 ECU do you have? best to use the P29, in which case you don't need a 4-wire O2 sensor as the P29 will only be looking for a 1-wire
you may need to do some rewiring at the distributor connector, depending on what kind of distributor jumper you have - the D16A8 has the cylinder sensor on the end of the exhaust camshaft and wires for it are in the OBD0 engine harness but not at the distributor connector
what ECU jumper do you have?

do you have the distributor jumper from speed factory also - MPFI to OBD1?
If so, you will notice that the distributor end has a round 7-wire connector like the D16A6 - your engine harness has a rectangular 5-wire,connector because the other 2 wires are running to the cylinder sensor - you need a round 7-wire connector to replace your 5-wire - you then need to swap the round connector onto your harness, take the 2 wires currently going to the cylinder sensor along with the 5 wires in your current connector and plug them into the connector in the correct locations - the connectors look like the picture - don't get the 2 white wires switched - make sure the igniter wire is in the correct location
