Default 2000 Civic front bumper allignment way off

What's good people, Trying to get my front bumper on my 2000 civic si and i cannot for the life of me figure out why there is such a big difference from the brackets. What could be doing this?

I took the bumper bar off and the headlights to see if either of them were messing me up here and nothing.

Any input would be appreciated.

The front bumper cover has to engage the front bumper side stiffeners (under each headlight) on each side.

That wouldn't be the reason as to why the wholes won't line up when there is no headlights and no bumper bar in though?

I would imagine it’s OEM, I would like to see if I can get someone to measure from one end of the bracket to the other end

Is this the original bumper? is this a honda oem bumper? to properly fit the bumper everything needs to be on including the headlights, bumper support and the foam piece.

Get some better pics, nobody can tell what's going on.

Also, check for vin tags on your fenders and bumper to see if it's original or R-DOT tags if they're OEM replacements.

side question - how do you tell the difference between the R-DOT tags and OEM replacements?

R-DOT are Honda replacement parts. The ID tag will be in the same place as an original VIN tag.

Anything else is aftermarket.
