Working on my car I accidentally broke the "cap" on this small "vacuum box" located directly under the intake plenum. Does anyone know what it is? How screwed am I? and is there any easy way to fix it?

When the cap broke off, it was kind of corroded underneath and basically fell apart! Any advice is appreciated!
