Yea just have it tuned properly!, make sure you have a oil temp sensor and a AFR gauge to view inside to keep an eye on those things while driving. Don't beet the crap out the engine and it will last as long as you keep it maintained. But it doesn't mean you wont wear out the engine faster cause you will, the rings will wear out faster depending on how healthy the engine is, Makes sure you got good compression numbers at least before boosting it.

I went a head and orders Brian crower stage 2 turbo cams with springs and retainer cp forged pistons and eagle rods and rod bearing also order ferrea 6000 turbo valves. I have arp head studs with golden eagle head gasket what bolts should I use for the cam guard, can’t find arp bolts for it

I threw up in my mouth a bit there. But....Moving on. Just stick with OEM GS-Rs for now, if you're going to do that..

Cam "guard"? You mean the camshaft bolts? No. you won't find those via ARP. Extended bolts are used only when using aftermarket cam gears. I know that GSC Power-Division makes them, and 2 other companies I don't remember at the present time.

Pretty obvious we're saying that about the camshafts. Quality control, Specification numbers aren't correct. People look at the buzzwords of "STAGE2" and "TURBO" and just think... OMG this is gonna be awesome!! When, they just bought something that really isn't going to be much better than a GS-R or CTR camshaft.

I didn’t order the cam because they said stage 2. This is my first build and me and why wife are doing it together. I been getting advice from a lot of people and I was told I would be good to run a turbo cam so as I was looking I came across a good deal and took it.

Your reasoning isn't what was questionable.Far from it.. The lack of true research for those in the field for many years (including many of us on this forum who've done this far longer than you'd think) is what got you into trouble.
Next time, (if there is one) list your whole potential build before you start running the credit card..

I guess.... You know, what you know. .

^^ Yup.. My credit card companies LOVE me right now for all the mistakes I made. Lol!

OP.
As mentioned, GSR, CTR, or even Skunk2 pro1.. Good cam choices there. But, you bought what you bought. It's your build, buddy! Still looking forward to seeing the results here. It's cool the missus is getting in on it too, quality time!!

Yes I was asking about the motor being stock and boosting it but I took it a part to double check everything because I bought it from a guy who put it together and started to see that it looked like it had high mileage on the pistons and cams I also talk to a few people around town and they gave me advice on what kinda stuff I should run

‘I would advise asking some questions around before loading up on **** that’s wrong or you don’t need. I’m a serious do it yourself type person, but I asked a ton of questions before I started buying stuff..... locals opinions seem centered around their personal preference most of the time and not always what’s best for you. I’ve got the same motor you have and I’m setting close to 700whp now for a reason

Exactly. If you Fail To Plan......Plan To Fail....

For every project I've assisted with and built, the 1st question I always ask is....... what's YOUR purpose for the car?... Not the locals...not your cousin's..... YOURS..

I CANNOT agree with the shodan more on this. My car has only been boosted for a couple of weeks and i continuously get asked why didn't i go with a GT35 or only 300whp that's all you wanted. Build for yourself what your goals and expectations are
