Please show examples of what in the world you are referring to

 

JB4 is a plug in style piggyback tuner unit.. More common in the BMW world. Some guys run them stand alone, others couple it with a back end flash.

As with any user adjustable tuner that works by tricking ecu inputs... if used right it can be decent, but it also gives the easy ability to blow your motor if you adjust outside of what the engine can take.
