1992 Honda Civic Manual Transmission Problems Diagnosis
I was on my way home and stopped at a light. When trying to get the car going again
I heard a loud mechanical "pop" and the engine spun but the car wouldn't move. I
pulled it out of the way and tried to get it going - no luck - the tach registers rpm,
the engine runs but won't engage the transmission. The clutch plate and flywheel
are less than 3-yrs old. The throw out bearing is the original one. The clutch slave
cylinder is more than 5-years old.
Any suggestions - THANKS MUCH

You can pull the access plate by the oil pan and see if there is a bunch of clutch material piled up under the flywheel. If the clutch is of poor quality or if it gets oil soaked, it can come apart. Just another thought as to what it could be.
