Code 9 even with new distributor
Hi,
I'm facing code 9 error on my ED9: I've bought brand new Ahsuki distributor and code 9 stills here.
I have 12V on CYL sensor plug so wires seem OK.
I don't have the PGM-F1 test harness, but from the doc I can see the only failure should be the ECU, am I right?

You don't need a pgmfi harness, the workshop manual asks you to measure for resistance and continuity, not voltage.
I had a brand new distributor before.. had it in for a bit and was getting a code 9 after a while so I took it out and put my old one in that I kept for back up to confirm it was a defective part and it was seaming like it was ,Took the new/“defective” distributor back to work at the parts store and ordered another one to the shop then took it home to reinstall it. No problem ever sense..
you probably have a bad/defective part.
good luck

Conclusion : code 9 was due to bad timing belt adjustment. When I was working on a previous issue I aligned the pulley with the distributor mark, not the timing belt mark
