Default ATTN: those with puck style clutches, specifically ACT

Do you notice alot of chatter/harsh engagement? I have a 93 Prelude with an ACT 6 puck unsprung and unless I am concentrating on being smooth I get mad chatter. Does anyone else have this problem? I knew it would be harsh but I was hoping it wouldnt be this bad. Even between gears it is hard to be smooth.

RK just got a clutchmaster stage 4 with 4 puck clutch and it chatters if he doesn't rev it up a little.

Just rev it up a little higher than normal.

It all depends on how u drive it. I have it and I had my flywheel resurfaced and like it was stated earlier u have to rev it a little when u take off from a start. If you do that and ease off the clutch u shouldnt have any chatter. It just takes some time to get used to. Dont worry you'll get that hang of it soon..

I have an Exedy 3-puck clutch. Had that same problem when I was new to it. Don't worry you will get used to it. You just have to be smooth in letting go of the clutch. Drive the car everyday for a few weeks, you should get the hang of it soon.

Probably because it's a 6-puck unsprung clutch w/ basically on/off engagment. Mainly for race use only. I'd never wanna drive one again on the street.

They will chatter.... I like 6 puck the best even with a little chatter.. My friend has an ACT Maxx Xtreme pressure plate with a 4 puck disk on his GSR/EK.. If you don't rev it up a bit it will chatter like crazy.... It's just something that you get from a solid disk..

I am used to it, I have had it for about 6 months now. I just pulled the motor for a rebuild and I was considering using a street dick when it goes back together. I was hoping that maybe there was something wrong with my clutch and that no one else had any problems with a 6/4 puck. Oh well, I guess I will keep my chatter.
