Default New door lock cylinder. Alarm when unlocking. 2005 Honda Accord

Hi, Sorry if this has been covered before. If it has, please send me the link to the appropriate thread or help me refine my search to find what I need--I've been looking and can't seem to find the answer. I just did my first ever work on my car, Honda Accord 2005 sedan, and obviously don't know what I'm doing.

I only have a valet key and the door lock cylinder recently broke, so I have not been able to lock the car. The key still works for the ignition. I installed a new door lock cylinder yesterday and during the process broke the large (quarter size) clip that attaches an electronic cable to the back side of the lock cylinder (the black, circular clip contains a white, also quarter size insert that has a notch that fits onto the cylinder--unfortunately no photo). First question, which would help me do a better search, is what is this part? I did my best to tape this connector onto the lock cylinder. I put everything else back together and the door opens and closes, locks and unlocks, and window rolls up and down--all good. When I close the door and use my knew key (this key is specific to the new lock cylinder but does not have a chip in it and is also different from my ignition key) I can lock the door and the car alarm system arms, but when I use the key to unlock the door and then open the door, the alarm triggers. The alarm goes off after awhile, but while it's going off even my ignition key (which has a chip) will not disarm the alarm. Is this related to the connector that I broke--is my tape job not working? Or do I need to get a new chip inserted into the door key and have it reprogrammed? Or is there something else going on? My goal is to just be able to lock my car and then unlock it without tripping the alarm. I'm fine with having two keys or an ignition key + a fob, or whatever other options may exist.

Edit: found pic on youtube but still not sure what the part is:

Thanks for helping and again sorry if this has been covered--really did try hard to find this without posting a potential duplicate thread.

Thanks

Gotta start somewhere. No worries.

It is the drivers door key cylinder switch. Yes it is integral to the vehicles alarm/keyless entry system.

LoL obviously taping it back together didn't work. Youll have to replace it. Ive never broken one so Im not sure if the switch is available separately or part of an assembly.

You do not need a new key or programming as its only function is to detect the movement of the lock cylinder and send the appropriate signal to the drivers door module.

Thanks DCFIVER!

For the time being, I set my Karr alarm system to valet mode, so I can at least lock and enter the car without triggering the alarm. In the process of replacing the cylinder, I also broke the small plastic insert that holds the door handle spring in place so the handle now lacks recoil. I'll look for the switch and replace that and the plastic insert at the same time. Cheers.

Reviving this thread because this is the only photo I've been able to find of this part! I'm also having the same issue: my car alarm will not shut off even with the key turning in the lock and successfully unlocking the drivers door. The other doors are no longer being unlocked when I turn the key as well. The black casing that holds the white disk has broken, as well as one of the wires yanked off of the solder. I believe I've found the correct part, but I was hoping to hear about your experience replacing it or from anyone else who might have some knowledge here.

First thought is just superglue the assembly piece back together, then screw it back in and hold it in place to see if that will engage whatever is needed. Since my piece is not actually cracked and I reconnected the wire, I'm not confident it's definitely the issue; I'm guessing it could be the actuator instead, because I've had problems with my doors locking/not locking, turning the key several times to unlock, etc.
Assembly switch ~$40, actuator $10. Thoughts, anyone?!
