Rsx type s

Hi there i just bought a rsx type s and I don’t know why my vtec kick in around 6800 or 7000

i don’t know if it tune or not but I got dc header and just a air intake

Is the car fully warmed up?
Is your oil level full?
Any CEL?
At 7K rpm, the K20Z1 screams to 8200. Your vtec might be kicking in earlier than you think. It's not an on/off switch like the older engines.
