i got a question for you regarding a project s800 mk2 that iam busy. Mk2 carb set.
I got the car from Germany to restore and found out that the engine was not firing the n 2 spark plug.
There is spark, compression in this particular one 8 k, the others 9 and above, valve gaps ok, 0.2mm to 0.4mm in all of them, and no firing, tried a different set of cables, other distributor, tried also mk1 carbs that is running on a mk1 car that i have, still no firing.
I think the engine was serviced there in Germany before i got it by the looks of the fresh oil in, but oil filter not replaced and full of mud.
This is a late engine.
So decide open up the engine, and reassembly it...did the valves, skim the head, put new rings, new gaskets etc...compression now better, valves gap between 0,2mm to 0,3mm.
Start the engine the original problem still remains...

Hello, I have the same problem. 4 small carburetors, model MK1. The accelerator pump is missing. The car started and after a year of standing - I did other things on it - it doesn't want to start.
Please tell me how you solved it.
