Default What technical issues can burnt ignition coil cause?

Hello.
I'm having bad time with my Concerto '94 aka D15B2 4th gen Civic (same internals).

Ok lets begin that long story: about two weeks ago I couldn't start engine. I've cranked it for about 2 minutes, it started but it was turning off on low rpm until I warmed up engine. I tought it was battery so I charged it.

Driving smooth and starting engine without any problems for next 3 days...

Then at 4th day sadly another problems started - during driving my gas pedal can randomly stop working (even if You floor it car won't accelerate, make any sound, raise rpm...). Car will lose speed and then turns off - it doesn't die immediately. When it dies, it is difficult to start it again - it can start after like 10 seconds or it can start after minutes of cranking, depends on luck haha

What I only did about that was checking my battery and alternator voltage - 13.2v on turned off engine, 14.2v while idle so I guess they're both fine.

After about 3 days of driving with problem like that my car died totally. Cranks but won't start. I can hear fuel pump. There is no spark from any wire. I've looked inside my ignition distributor - the metal part on distributor cap which goes to the hole in the ignition coil was so dirty that I couldn't see its original material. I've cleared it (was dirty thiccc, hard to clean). Then I've tried to start engine and... it started immediately like never before.

The fun ends after 5 kilometrs long trip I've made after clearing distributor cap - "gas pedal not working>engine dies>takes a while to start it again" problem mentioned before appears again. It was late so I went sleep after that dissapointment.

About 4 days later of driving my car with mentioned before problems it died completely again. Again, I've looked inside ignition distributor. Distributor cap metal part which goes inside coil was even more dirty than FEW DAYS AGO I'VE JUST CLEARED IT. I've became suspicious and looked inside ignition coil hole and... It was burned inside.

Couldn't clean it enough, only cleaned thicc layer of same colour burnt material present on distributor cap.
After that I've tried to start the car... and it started immediately again.

I've didnt driven it since that time, too lazy to clean cap again when my car dies during driving. Just ordered new cap and coil, waiting for it right now.

So let's get back to question from this topic title - what can burnt ignition coil do to my car?
Aside from burning my distributor cap part like it is happening for me right now.

Can it be a source of "gas pedal not working>engine dies>takes a while to start it again" problem too?

What can cause ignition coil to burn like that? Or they can die by themself?

Thanks.

Replaced ignition coil. Also cap and rotor which were damaged because burnt ignition coil, wires (I've damaged them by accident) and spark plugs to iridium ones.
After those replacements problems got solved, car starts and drives normalny again.

Wow! that thing is toast!
all that carbon build up from arcing makes it amazing that it would ever start/run.
