Default 93 del sol s. K swap vs b swap

I bought a 93 del sol s with a d15b7 for the sole purpose of swapping it. It has manual steering an no a/c, and 5 speed manual transmission. I’m trying to make about 250-300 whp with a turbo eventually. Would it be more worth it to k swap or b swap? Also what would the cost be? I’ve searched around quite a bit but most of the posts I have found regarding cost are really old, like 5-10 years +

This car will not really be a daily but at least get driven a few times a week when I want something more fun to drive.

Also, I will be doing the work myself so don’t need to factor in labor costs.

Would like to keep the budget around 3-5k tops. I’m going to slowly piece the build together as I have the funds

It would be totally worth it to find out what you can afford.

3-5k if possible. Including engine and transmission. I’m going to try to source engine/trans and whatever else I can through junkyards whenever I can find stuff

You will not get to 300 wheel HP with a "K" series swap at your maximum budget, so great deals on "B" series parts is your only path.

I mean is it even realistic to do 300 wheel on a b series with my budget? What would it cost to do it with k series? 10 grand? Obviously I’m not gonna put 10 grand into a 25 year old car but still curious

I think you'll be doing good to get a stock b or k in your car for your budget. I'd focus on that for now and get it running right then save for turbo stuff later. Do a spreadsheet comparing the costs of purchasing engine, transmission, mounts, ecu, harness, etc.
