Default 94 Accord EX power issues

I've got an Accord that I'm trying to figure out. It has no power, from 1000 to 3000 rpm it has nothing and won't rev over 4000. The odd thing is there are times when during acceleration, it almost runs good. It's almost like it wakes up for a second or two and goes back to crap.

1. Cleaned out Vtec solenoid screen (I'll check it again this weekend)
2. Wires, plugs have been replaced.
3. Injectors replaced.
4. Intake replaced, the old one was split in 50+ places.
5. No check engine light.

Could a bad ground cause the issue? What else should I be looking at?

Not yet but just watched a video based off your suggestion. I'll play with that this weekend and see if it helps.

Thanks for the tip!

Is it sputtering, bucking, and jerking, or just a steady drop in power?
The Oxygen Sensor failing in these cars can cause crappy running.

Have you verified that the ignition timing is correct?
Have you verified the timing belt is properly timed and tensioned?
If your CEL does not come on when you turn the key to II(ON) then the bulb for the CEL lamp is busted and you need to replace it or borrow a bulb from another spot on the gauge cluster so as to be able to diagnose any saved codes.
If the CEL does indeed work, then the VTEC system may be protecting the engine. If you noted on the VTEC solenoid there is a pressure switch on the side of the solenoid base.
If there is insufficient oil pressure the switch will not close, this will prevent VTEC solenoid activation. Check oil level, verify your oil pan is not damaged.
VTEC operation on the B1 is not a simple rpm threshold. It is also load/temp/vehicle speed dependent.
If not all the boxes are not checked, VTEC will not activate.

EGR only affects part throttle performance, it will not limit rpm. You would notice misfiring which would be displayed as bucking under part throttle cruise.

I'm not too concerned about the vtec activating yet, right now I'm focused on getting to the car to move under 4k rpm. Without vtec I should be on the conservative can lobe so I'm not sure how that would affect my low rpm performance.

The oil level is fine and I think the pressure switch is working (I believe). I'll look over those ideas this weekend and hopefully be able to get some answers.

Let me take a moment to admit that this is my first very used Honda. I have no experience with this so please "educate" me.

I looked up the EGR symptoms and my car could check off most of those. When I am in there this weekend I will pull the vtec again and make sure that screen is clean.

Is there a good source for the vtec parts out there? All I see for this thing are overpriced (in comparison to others) assemblies and colored caps. Can't I just buy the solenoid?
