Hey guys, just joined the group. hopefully you can help. just purchased an 01 accord lx 5 sp 4 cyl. I replaced the slave cylinder and the clutch pedal is still acting weird. sticks to the floor. doesn't recoil when I release pressure. Also, when i put it into gear, and floor the clutch, it will slowly idle With out me releasing my foot from the clutch. Just looking for any heklp and answers. thanks again in advancee

Did you bleed it correctly?

I bled it through the bleeder valve on the slave. it worked really well for about 4 days.
maybe the master cylinder went out.... idk if theres a leak in the line. not sure. the clutch fluid hasnt dropped at all.

If the master cylinder was leaking it typically would leak inside the car around the pedal area. Sounds like it still has air in the system. Take a flashlight and follow the clutch lines from the master to the slave and look for any leaks. If there aren't any, try bleeding it again.

bled it again yesterday with no improvement(and no air release from the bleeder). I followed the line. bone dry. and there are no leaks in the interior.or near the firewall or reservoir. I've never scene the inside diagram of a master cylinder and im not sure how it works in terms of control valves and directional flow. the car has 170xxx and is 18 years old. im assuming A. still air in the system (somehow)or B. the the inner workings and directional contorl fittings, valves or o-rings inside of the master have gone defective(the peddle is limp and does not recoil. it was explained that both cylinders are replaced together as a new master will further stress and deteriorate the slave and visa versa.I doubt the possibility of a leak because the fluid level has never dropped. my girl friend sat in the driver seat and hit the clutch....I watched the pistomn exted and actuate the clutch arm....then(with the clutch floored) the piston receded back into the slave.all leading me to believe the master is defective and bumb.....end rant. im just concerned about the cost because i would fix it my self but i dont own the tools
