Default Tire recommendations Please!

I have a 95 accord 4dr and I got some wheels that are 15X8 and I am pretty new to this so I really don't know what tire size I should go with to make look nice on my 95 accord. Does anyone here have a picture of a example of something that would look good for my size of rim and car or recommend a size that would look nice. Thanks!

Nothing super low profile on a 15" wheel unless you want that clown car look. The Accords are fairly big bodied and better suited to a 16/17" wheel honestly. Being 8" is fairly wide I would probably go with something like a 205/55R15. That's very close to the overall original tire diameter of your vehicle so your speedometer should read nearly accurate. The first number, 205, is the width of the tire. The second number is the height of the tire represented by a percentage of the width, so 55% of 205 and you get the sidewall dimensions. If you want something slightly less tall then go with a 205/50/R15 but beware that this will alter your speedometer reading by quite a bit.

Personally I like Kumho tires but you will hear a different biased opinion from just about everyone. Kumho has never done me wrong though. The tires always last, perform well and are cost effective.

The offset of the wheel will play a large part in determining the tire you can use. Personally, I like 17x8 rims with 40-45mm positive offset.

I prefer 17's always on my accords in the past. It has been awhile I'm just getting back into the scene, but the only reason I am going 15's us that I got these rims for free from my brother and was going to use them for now until I buy me a bigger set of wheels. Saving up for some racing harts but for now I'm going to run on these 15X8 XXR 531.

The wheel offset will play a part in how the wheel fits the car. Not how big of a tire the wheel can fit. If the wheel offset is too aggressive and you run an overly wide tire it will rub the fenders/rear quarters if your ride height is too low or your suspension is too soft. 205 is still fairly narrow for an 8" wide wheel so you should be fine. I'm running 235s on an 8.25" wide wheel for example.

I think but not sure but the offset of the wheels is going to be 0 offset.

If the offset is 0, then you are going to have problems. Better find out for sure. Measure the wheels.

Agreed. 0 offset is way too aggressive. Wheels are gonna poke out super far and look ridiculous. You will have lots of clearance issues as well. If they are indeed 0 offset then it sounds like they were for a "stancy" civic and are probably not going to be a very good fit for your Accord, especially if you're on stock suspension and don't have rolled/pulled fenders.

A 20/25 offset will have a slight amount of poke that will look aggressive with the right suspension setup but requires fender rolling and a correctly selected tire to avoid rubbing.

A 35/45 offset will be a basically "flush" fit and requires very little modification to use. These will have the least amount of clearance issues.

Not sure what tire size you are going to end up with, but what I can recommend is other specs.

Don't let pricing or unknown name brands(new tires) put you off. I've found unknown brands that are equal to or better than some popular name brands in the same tire size.
Its the service numbers that are your friends. Last set of tires I put on the Accord to replace the discontinued Pole Positions, were a whopping $250 installed. With the exception of Goodyear RSAs, the only other name brand tire that was even close to the Pole Positions would have been closer to $150 each installed. When you spec your tires, by service limits, it opens up a whole new world of tire choices you didn't know you had.

400 treadwear, no higher. I know you will find more 500-600 treadwear, which has better longevity, but the lower treadwear offers better grip. On commuters I do this more for brake/turning performance.
I'm of the mindset, the tires should grip better than the brakes, if you can easily lock up your tires on good pavement, then the tires are not doing their job properly.

Temperature A and Traction A ratings minimum. These indicate the tire is up to the task. If you can find a Temp AA rating, even better.

Forget any tire that is S or T speed rated. A higher speed rating is a tire that has better structural integrity. Most freeways around me are '65MPH' but if I'm not doing 75-85MPH I'm going to get rearended. Why drive on a tire that you are pushing to 76% of speed rating, when you can comfortably push it to 65% speed rating(H) and not be concerned about over speeding the tire itself. Accords of this era are well capable of triple digit speeds in stock form, don't under rate your tires. No need to go to V or higher ratings, unless you actually do need to go faster than a buck thirty.

Load capacity isn't really a choice when it comes to common passenger tires. With a given speed rating the load capacity usually increases as the tire carcass is stronger. I wouldn't concern myself with it as tire manufactures know that a given tire size is most likely going to go onto a given weighted vehicle. It's only if you start to under-size your tires that you should look at the load capacity for safety reasons.

Thank you all to who has replied to my thread all this information has given me more knowledge about what I should do with my decision. I have confirmed that the offset of the 15X8 are a 20 offset, but I have decide not to waste my time on buying tires for these rims and find a trade or sell them for something a little bigger at least 16's to 17's. I myself just find that 15's on a accord are just too small especially if you have to put on some meaty threads.

And also, if you ever plan on putting some really good calipers and rotors on the car, you will need the larger diameter wheels to clear them.
