97 dx couple issues need help on
So im kinda new to this Honda game and i have a couple of issues i need help fixing with this coupe i recently got. Firstly Im aware that it does not have the stock d16y7 in it, its been swapped over to a d16z6. So my main issue right now is the previous owner told me it just needed a condenser fan , and 02s ,so far ive only fixed the condenser fan but when i added in freon the car seems to be acting weird, i also did not overfill it or under fill it. When the AC is turned on the car idle drops to about 500-600 rpm range sometimes even lower and it doesnt seem to get cold. The clicking from the compressor is also too loud compared to my friends coupe also and his idle does not dip his actually increases slightly like normal. The idle on mine dips really hard when the ac turns on, then when the compressor clicks off the idle go up to about 1100rpm and back to normal. I have no clue as to what it could be like i said im kinda new to this all. My second issue with the car is at night when i have anything electrical on like headlights i notice they flicker constantly and my idle also raises up to about 900rpm. Id really like to fix the flickering because i notice it on the headlights , the cluster lights and the interior light. I was thinking possibly alternator, battery, or even the terminals but i havent gotten it check out yet. Anyways sorry for rambling id like to see if i can get any help on this. Lastly i wanna know if anyone knows where i can get some manual coupe door panels, i cant find any at the junkyard and the ones on Ebay are ridiculous in price. Thanks in advance!
Does the condenser fan work? The condenser fan should be on all the time the compressor is engaged. If it doesn't run the system will overpressure and the compressor will bog down the engine until the overpressure switch trips. The same thing will happen if you use too much refrigerant or don't remove the air from the lines with a vacuum pump before charging an empty system (also ask yourself how it got empty in the first place-- is it just going to leak out again?)
Lights flickering is likely no power to the alternator control circuit due to the well known and easily found on Google "Fuse 15 Problem." This will also cause several false ECU codes and the speedometer probably doesn't work.
