“New” 2019 accord 2.0t with 1.7k miles
hi all,
a couple of days ago I purchased a “new” (that’s what they had it advertised as) 2019 2.0t accord with 1.7k miles from a Honda dealer in my area.
- i paid 27k for it (29k total after fees and taxes) at 3.5% financing.
- how did I do? Did I get burned? It was listed as new so I didn’t even check the mileage, but now I’m worried that I overpaid.
if the car was good as new I wouldn’t be too worried, considering a brand new accord 2.0t is like 31-32k.
BUT
there are a couple of issues with the car.
the arm rest in the back has some damage (looks like the metal part of the seat belt in the back got pressed into it). (I also found trash from juice boxes there)
AND the car has a slight veer/pull to the left when releasing the steering wheel.
i still have 24-48 hours to return the vehicle. Should I do that? Or just have the dealer fix these issues.

Just slightly worried about what else the dealership is hiding or “forgetting to tell me”.
everything about the place seemed shady. Their first offer to me had me paying 780 a month for 72 months lol.
i’m just worried that they’re hiding even more, I’d almost rather just return the car and pay an extra 20 a month for a 2020 with no miles

I don’t think you got burned but you should of bought a BRAND NEW car not a used car. Ether way the price is good and apr is good too. I say trade it in a year.
FWIW; your "new" car with 40 miles on it has been out on some test drives itself; when a car is truly "new" it will typically have less than 5 miles on the clock.
More than likely you bought a loaner car our dealer keeps picks a few new cars and puts them as loaner cars for service then turns around a sells them since they have never been bought they are still considered "new"

The difference between NEW and USED has nothing to do with mileage... it is about the title. An "MSO" vehicle is new... MSO standing for Manufacturers Sales Order and is the document that leads to the vehicles FIRST title. Once a vehicle has been titled, it is no longer considered new, and thus, is USED. If there is ever a question about a vehicle being new or used... run a VIN check through a trusted service like CarFax or AutoCheck. If it comes up in the system, it has been titled... as in USED.
Incidentally, when we purchased our 2019 Accord 2.0L Touring last June, it actually had 950 miles on it. I asked the salesman why it had so many miles and was told that another customer had purchased a Hybrid Accord and the clean up department inadvertently placed her in the Touring car instead. She immediately departed on a trip before the salesman could swap out the cars, so she drove it nearly 900 miles round trip before returning to the dealership to get her car. I thought this sounded fishy... so I did just as I suggested above: Run the VIN and see if the title was active. It was not, so I just beat them up a bit more on the price because of the added mileage. Purchased it for $31,500 plus tax... MSRP was over 37K.
