92 accord lx burning 80a fuse instantly
Hey I bought my first Honda about a week ago and it came with an electrical problem, it would run connected to my truck but die after a couple minutes of it running on it’s own and the alternator was old anyways so I changed the alternator. As far as I know nothing else has changed. The battery has 8v in it so it won’t start until its connected to a starter or car battery but as soon as you connect either or, the battery 80a fuse burns instantly. It burns it with the alternator connected or not, I don’t think the new alternator is grounding anywhere it shouldn’t, and the battery to fuse box wires look 85% good. Any idea what it might be? Would it be the wires connecting the fuse box to the alternator? It ran great before I’m just frustrated not being able to find this problem. I’ll post pics if needed
I'm not the best at wiring trouble shooting but I can try an help. If your fuse is blowing then your pulling to much power somewhere in the battery circuit. I would suggest a wiring diagram of the circuit an search for power draws. My suspect is the alternator or starter.put a circuit breaker fuse in there till you find your problem.other than that I would disconnect the starter or alternator and connect the battery n see what blows it.
