2005 Honda CRV - Headlights on alert
I got a 2005 Honda CRV. The headlight alert stopped working. I drained the battery a few times after forgetting to turn off the headlights. I went thru the forums and did a few things. But still it doesn't work.
- The dome light works when the door is open
- The seat belt alert works
- The dashboard light works
- installed a new door jamb. made sure the wire is connected well. still the alert doesn't work when the headlights are left on.
Appreciate any suggestions to get this fixed. Is there any fuse that goes with this?

May can possibly be caused by the following; but, not limited to:
- Multiplex Control Unit (MCU), which is incorporated as part of the under-dash fuse/relay box. If faulty, under-dash fuse/relay box would be replaced. The MCU is part of the Lights-on Reminder circuit.
- Ignition Key Switch (switch contacts sticking in closed position even with key out), ground signal still present to MCU. MCU thinks key still in ignition.
- Short to ground in Red/Wht wire that goes from ignition key switch to MCU.
Under the driver side dash area, there is an unused 20-Grn connector for the optional/accessory-Security Control Unit.
At terminal no. 13 (Red/Wht wire) of the green connector, check for continuity to ground with the ignition key removed from the ignition switch. If there is ground present, the cause is either with the ignition switch or wiring.
