No start after replacing the VSS

No start after replacing the VSS
04 Accord Euro, manual 6 speed.
I replaced the VSS in the gearbox.
Now the green key flashes and crank no start.
When I plug in the old one it works fine.
New part was sourced from a Honda dealer with a VIN.
Do I need to calibrate the new one or some such thing?
