P2646 Keeps coming back! - Replaced everything!
Hello All,
I have an 03 Accord 2.4. 140K miles . A month or so ago, MIL light came on and I got a P0301 misfire code. Car was sputtering above 3K RPMs. I replaced all four coils and plugs and fuel injectors with OEM Denso, NGK, and Intermotor injectors, because I could and I thought it was time.
When I started the car and took for a test, car sputtered at 3K rpm and MIL came back on but this time it was a P2646 Code: (Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch/Actuator Circuit). I put in a new Intermotor Actuator/Solenoid assy and replaced the screen by the Power Steering pump. Both were quite clogged, even though oil is changed regularly, though at one of those 'Quick Lube' places with dino oil (wife's car).
I'm still getting a P2646 code. Oil is old, but level is good. Oil change to Mobil 1 is my next guess...
What else to check?
Thanks!

Your post did not mention replacement of the rocker arm oil pressure switch.
The rocker arm oil pressure switch may fail intermittently. The replacement Honda part number is 37250-PNE-G01.

Hello, thanks for answering ... I replaced the VCT assy which includes a new pressure switch ... I was still getting the P2646 code. However, lesson learned here: Start with the simple stuff and stay away from those 'Quick Lube' places. Even though the car gets regular oil changes, the oil at those lube places is cheap. Screens were completely occluded at 140K miles...
I finally changed out the oil to M1 HM 5w20 and a M1 filter and the code stayed away...
However, in the process, my fat gut broke the radiator overflow nipple and since Denso replacement is fairly cheap, I just decided to replace instead of booty-fab something.
