I have a d16z6 in my del sol and I'm doing a head gasket job. But there is 1 nut left on the intake manifold, the one in the middle at the bottom. I cant get any socket/ratchet to get to it. I've bought multiple different extensions to try to fit. What tools do you use to remove that last nut?

 

I use a socket and long extension but go at it from under the car. You may have to remove the intake manifold support brace/bracket that goes from the block to the under side of the intake manifold.

 

Remove the brace from underneath the car and you will have access to the last nut. I left the brace off and can now get the last nut off from the top using a 6" long, 3/8" drive wobble extension, 3/8" ratchet, and short-well 12 mm socket.

 

How about a 12mm ratcheting wrench from the top ?

 

Remove the head with the intake manifold still connected
