Custom lift springs reasonably priced.
Have a 2000 crv that I lifted with spacers just to see if the platform would handle our needs off-road. Now that I’ve decided to proceed with the build I want a proper lift. I called a local custom spring shop, but they only do leafs, but they recommend this place:
Coil Spring Specialties | Off Road
after a call to them I’m impressed with their service and their prices (was quoted $275,00 for the set). The tech I talked to told me they can make custom coils that will be within a 1/4” of the desired ride height. I also wanted a bit more rate in the back to stop the squat on hard shifts and to help carry all the gear we will be hauling around in the woods, not to mention hauling a trailer once and a while. They said they can add some rate to accommodate. All they needed was the stock spring part number so they had a baseline. These are the numbers my local dealer gave me:
front: 51401-s10-a22
rear: 52441-s10-a01
^^^ if these are wrong, please correct me with a reply.
dealer couldn’t tell me spring rates, but coil specialties said that the fronts were 283, and the rears were 145. If anyone knows these are incorrect, please post up proper numbers.
if you want to accommodate for things like an rtt, a buildout with heavy gear they will want rough weight estimates and where the gear will be placed in the rig. Like in the back behind the wheels, or behind the front seats, etc.
im not sure whether or not I’m going this route just yet but after looking around online for what’s available I was not satisfied and looked elsewhere. I figured I’d let the community know another option. Hopefully a few of you find the info helpful.

lol, thanks for the acronym breakdown, but hell no. we want the crv because of the independent suspension and good ride. a swap like that would defeat the whole purpose. we’re making the crv our stand in camper for when we build our van out. once the van is done we are likely going to flat tow the crv as a day tripper further into the sticks.
