Car turned off on freeway
hello I need help pointing me in the right direction, I was driving home on the freeway and suddenly the car turned off while driving. no smoke no weird noises just turned off. at first I thought it might been the oil since it had previously been on and off but I was already going to do an oil change this weekend so I bought 2 quarts of oil and tries to start her up and it would crank and it seemed like it wanted to start and I gave it a little gas and it would keep it on a little bit until I stopped then it would turn off again. tried jumping the car and adding gas but they didn't work. thinking it might be fuel filter, starter, or maybe even spark plugs any help is gladly appreciated thanks!
When you put the car into the ON position, without starting the car, do you hear the fuel pump prime? A kind of buzzing noise from the rear passenger seat area? If not, fuel pump is dead.

It can be alot of things unfortunately. On a car that isnt serviced regularly we can only narrow down the possibilities by replacing all of the worn items that should have been replaced earlier. Once we eliminate common failure items we can see if a non common wear item like an ignition switch is at fault
Its also much cheaper to do the common tune up items, and since they are needed anyways there is no wasted money on parts, because those parts should have been replaced anyways. Where as an ignition switch isnt proactive maintenance

ignition coil and ignition control module are 2 likely candidates.
you'll need both eventually so you wouldnt be wasting any money buying new ones.
you can try cleaning the ignition switch to see if it makes a difference.

So new to Honda's but being I works on my vw most of my time here's a few things that may relate. Had this issue a couple of times but differ thing gone wrong. First was the coolant temp sensor. Vws are very picky on that sensor and though it would start the idle was bad. Second is the mass airflow sensor. Causes mostly bad idle but have heard it not allow the car to start. I do routine maintenance on the car but have had both happen to me.
