Just a short introduction- I have been a member of HT since 2000 but haven't posted in years (typer142) and I think that ultimately led to me being banned. I now have made a new user name.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone can verify if 1997 Canadian ITR's come with VIN stickers on the body panels (trunk, fenders, door jam, hood, quarter panels). I am aware there are VINs on the firewall and dash.

no they do not. no vins anywhere except for dashboard and firewall.

 

Thank you for your response. What about the engine and trans? Does the trans come with the usual green plate engraved with the VIN visible from the front?

My bad, didn't realize this was a CDM ITR. I have no knowledge of how CDM verifies the VIN on the engine and transmission.

 

Yes they do, my CDM has the VIN on all panels.

Which makes sense, 97-98 cdn ITR's have vin's on firewall, dash and door jam

00-01 will have all vins on all panels

Only one now we have to figure out is the 99 ITR which only came in Canada

 

Mine is a 99 doesnt have vin#'s on the fenders but i think they have been replaced, my guess is 98-01 are all the same for vin #'s

 

Does it have vin #'s on the hood, bumpers, doors and hatch? That would confirm it, I think 99-01 or 00-01 CDN ITR's would be the cars that had a vin on everything. 97-98 Only having Vin's on firewall, dash and door jamb

 

Correct. 97-98 CDM only have VINs on the firewall, dash and one door jamb. 99 - 01 CDM have the same VINs plus all body panels and transmission. 97 - 98 do not have VIN on the transmission.
