Default SRS light

Hello, I have a 2001 gsr integra, I have recently removed my air bags and changed my steering wheel, so now my SRS light is on, the car is currently down at the moment, it's not in a position to get it back on the road, but I just wanted to know now that I have removed the air bags and the SRS light is on, would it prevent the car from turning on when it is ready to be driven again ? Thank you.

No but the air bag might not work, there is a write up on how to clear the SRS code, I recently did it to my 2000 EK hatch when I replaced the steering wheel.

I would say the fact that he removed the airbags will probably be the main cause of them not working.

wow I wasnt aware of the injuries, the steering wheel upgrade caused the light to turn on, so I figured I'll remove the passenger side also, and add that carbon tray, just for looks, was gonna upgrade the seat belts also to a five point harness, car is still down so I got some time to see what I want to do for the safety aspect of the car, thank you guys for reading really appreciate it

Most all air bags will cause injury when they are activated! the pressure is very high when it expands from out the shell its just the nature of the design, I do believe in the right situation besides the injury it caused it will still at the end of the day save your life! you rather have a broken nose or a broken neck? you choose! I choose the broken nose..

And put the passenger air bag on the last thing you want to do is kill your passenger cause you wanted to look cool with a JDM air bag Tray! its probably the most stupidest mod you can do imo. If you do the mod do not ever let a passenger ride along, you could be possibly prosecuted in court for the death of your passenger if they find evidence you purposely removed the air bag at the very least get charged with man slaughter that's what happened to my friend who crashed and his passenger who was also his friend died from the accident they gave him 5 years and he did 2.5 years of that in county prison! Be smart think of these things before you do these types of mods, im almost scared to death driving my Integra with the aftermarket steering wheel on. I put it on years ago as one of my first mods, now years later and the increase in HP the car has in the event of a serious crash the steering wheel will and can cause death from impact from not having a air bag, I will probrally change that back to a OEM steering wheel one of these days but the car is driven only on the weekends not daily but that's not the point cause accidents can happen any time any day! I had a very serious crash a few years back and god was with me that day and I didn't get hurt from the steering wheel but it was damn close!

You make good points, I wouldn't want to hurt anyone let alone the passenger, I'll leave that alone. Thanks for the tip and advice

Those mods are for " Show Cars " they don't get driven only shown, they get towed to the events if they are doing it right but some will drive it but again its not ever meant to be placed in a daily driven car.
